As I continue a website copywriting project this morning, I thought of a tip I’ve been intending to pass along for awhile. Here it is:
When writing a website, keep in mind that your potential customers aren’t likely to be familiar with the technical aspects and jargon that goes along with the type of business you have. If your website is full of copywriting with terms unfamiliar to your potential customer, making them feel uncomfortable or confused, then your customer might click away and purchase elsewhere.
You might be surprised to see how an outsider would approach writing your website. From an “outside-in” perspective, website copywriting can meet the customer where they are in the buying process, help them learn more, and empower him or her to purchase.
